Pop off — Kiiikiii

For promoting “Pop Off Pop Off," Kiiikiii's creative team BYHEYONE provided a brief and references establishing the project's creative direction, which I used to brainstorm visual ideas, and then build a rough storyboard and shot list. My editing work centered on capturing the specific graphic language of the early 2010s, which was an era shaped by Tumblr and the rise of Instagram. I wanted to deliberately distinguish it from the Y2K aesthetic that dominates so much of today's design in terms of nostalgic throwbacks. I designed and animated salient visual motifs of that era like maximalist animal patterns, peace signs, galaxy print. I had a lot of fun making this because I love making fan edits based on internet aesthetics and visual trends of fashion and design from the last 50 years.
